Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur 2020

This year, 2020, has been unlike any the world has ever before seen. All of the prophets are in agreement that our Messiah is soon to return. However, the United States also stands on the verge of judgment from God. For these reasons, the Fall Biblical Feasts will be more significant than ever. If you've never before observed the Feasts of God, this is the year to do so.

RSVP below for our Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur online Feast Day gatherings in 2020. These are sacred online assemblies in which we can talk with each other, worship together, prophesy, receive prayer from each other and much more. After you complete the form below, an email will then be sent to you with the links to join us from your computer or smartphone via GoToMeeting. Feel free to share this with others as well, because it is time for us to come together for worship, prayer and repentance! These gatherings will also begin and end the 10 Days of Prayer, for which we are the city leader for Newport News. To receive our email blasts all 10 days, click here.

Yom Teruah Feast Day Service on Saturday, September 19th at 3pm EDT online

(This online gathering will follow a live Yom Teruah Gathering at 10 am EDT on the same day to sound shofars and pray at Chatham Trails, located at 401 Chatham Dr., Newport News, VA 23608. Experienced shofarim will sound shofars, leaders in the area will share exhortations and all of us will pray for God's will to be done in our region and nation. If you're in the area, feel free to join us. Please practice social distancing and wear comfortable clothes.)

Yom Teruah is also called Rosh Hashanah. This year it begins at sundown on Sept. 18th and ends at sundown on Sept. 19th. It is the day for sounding the shofar, which announces the coming King, scatters the enemy and awakens God's people to our purposes. Yom Teruah will be fulfilled when Messiah returns according to 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. It also begins the 10 Days of Awe, a time set a part for prayer, reflection and repentance.

Yom Kippur Feast Day Service on Monday, September 28th at 3pm EDT online

(This online gathering will following an Immersion at the Yorktown Beach in Yorktown, VA at 12 noon EDT the same day. Our Yom Kippur Immersion is in conjunction with Congregation Zion's Sake, and it is free and open to all. Please practice social distancing, wear dark clothes and bring a change of clothes.)

Yom Kippur is also called the Day of Atonement. This year, it begins at sundown Sept. 27th and ends at sundown on Sept. 28th. The Lord requires a complete fast and doing absolutely no work on this day (Lev. 23:26-32). It is the day on which God either purges us of our sins or purges us from His Book of Life, as no sin can glory in His Presence. Yom Kippur will be fulfilled on Judgment Day, as we see it in Revelation 20:11-15. As believers in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ), we must focus on praying for the lost and our nation on Yom Kippur, as this is the day that God set a part to deliver entire nations from sin. It is in fact the Biblical National Day of Prayer!
