This will bring you to the Bank Street entrance of Capitol Square (see pic above) at the corner of Bank St and 9th St. When you enter there, go right for entrance into the Virginia State Capitol Building through security. House Room 3 will be down the hall to the right. When joining us in Capitol Square near the Bell Tower, go left after enter through the Bank Street entrance, up the hill and continue left. We will be at the Mantle (a circular area), just right of the Bell Tower. There is no access into the Capitol Building through the original front door at the top of the steps. That door is permanently closed. You must enter the Virginia State Capitol Building from the Bank Street entrance at the bottom of the hill. If you enter Capitol Square from the Grace Street entrance, turn right and come down to the Bell Tower. To continue to House Room 3, continue down the hill and turn left at the bottom.
Parking: Parking is not easily accessible in downtown Richmond, so you are encouraged to park at a near by parking lot or garage. The nearest parking lot is the Commonwealth of Virginia Visitor Parking Garage directly across the street from the Bank St. entrance at the corner of N. 9th St. and Bank St. You will need a credit card to pay for parking there, which costs $5 per hour. Street parking is also an option but often unavailable. There are other nearby lots and garages, which require a credit card and smartphone to pay.
More about Yom Teruah Feast Day Services
Yom Teruah is also called Rosh Hashanah. This year it begins at sundown on Monday, September 22nd and ends at sundown on Tuesday, September 23rd. It is the day for sounding the shofar, which announces the coming King, scatters the enemy and awakens God's people to our purposes. Yom Teruah will be fulfilled when Messiah returns according to 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. It also begins the 10 Days of Awe, a time set a part for prayer, reflection and repentance.
During our Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur services, we will also have communion. Near the end of our Yom Teruah Service, we will pray for deliverance and intercede, accompanied by 12 communions. If you join us online, please bring enough matzah (unleavened bread) and grape juice (1 large cup) for 12 communions, if you'd like to receive Holy Communion with us.
More about Yom Kippur Immersion and Feast Day Service
Yom Kippur is also called the Day of Atonement. The Lord requires a complete fast (no food, water or entertainment) and doing absolutely no work on this day (Lev. 23:26-32). It is the day on which God either purges us of our sins or purges us from His Book of Life, as no sin can glory in His Presence. Yom Kippur will be fulfilled on Judgment Day, as we see it in Revelation 20:11-15. As believers in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ), we must focus on praying for the lost and our nation on Yom Kippur, as this is the day that God set apart to deliver entire nations from sin. It is in fact the Biblical National Day of Prayer!
Our Yom Kippur observance in Gloucester begins with an Immersion in the York River at Gloucester Point Beach Park in Gloucester, VA. Immersion in Yorktown is in conjunction with Congregation Zion's Sake. Please wear dark clothes and bring a towel and change of clothes if you join us for the Immersion. Our Yom Kippur observance in Richmond begins with prayer at the State Capitol at 1pm. Following, we will lead a Yom Kippur Service at Congregation Or Shalom in the Women's Business Center at 1510 Willow Lawn Drive, Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23230. Complete the form above to join us online via Zoom for this service.
Near the end of our Yom Kippur Online Service, we will have communion once. If you join us online, please bring a small piece of matzah (unleavened bread) and a small cup of grape juice (or wine), if you'd like to receive Holy Communion with us on Yom Kippur. If you join us in-person, we will supply the communion elements.
More about 1st Day of Sukkot Feast Day Service and 8th Day of Sukkot Feast Day Service
During Sukkot, the Lord requires that we dwell in temporary shelters (called sukkot), enjoying fellowship with Him and each other. On the 1st and 8th days of Sukkot, God calls us to hold a sacred assembly (Lev. 23:33-43). Sukkot will be fulfilled when all of God's people dwell with Him forever with nothing to harm us or cause us to mourn (Rev. 21:1-4). Let's practice for eternity with God now!
For our live observances of the 1st and 8th Days of Sukkot, join us in person at the Historic Antioch Church or complete the form above to join us online via Zoom.
Near the end of both of our Sukkot Services (1st & 8th days), we will pray for deliverance and intercede, accompanied by 12 communions. If you join us online, please bring enough matzah (unleavened bread) and grape juice (1 large cup) for 12 communions, if you'd like to receive Holy Communion with us. Remember, Sukkot is one of the 3 annual Feasts during which God requires a Shelamim offering--a freewill offering based on how much He has blessed us (see Deuteronomy 16:16-17). Determine how much your household will give during Sukkot, and set it aside. Give it any time during Sukkot, and receive a household blessing.
