More about Yom Teruah Feast Day Services

Yom Teruah is also called Rosh Hashanah. This year it begins at sundown on Wednesday, October 2nd and ends at sundown on Thursday, October 3rd. It is the day for sounding the shofar, which announces the coming King, scatters the enemy and awakens God's people to our purposes. Yom Teruah will be fulfilled when Messiah returns according to 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. It also begins the 10 Days of Awe, a time set a part for prayer, reflection and repentance.

Join us for our Erev Yom Teruah Service at 7:00pm EDT on Wednesday, October 2nd at Congregation Or Shalom, located at 1510 Willow Lawn Drive, Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23230, for our evening live observance of Yom Teruah. Join us also at 12:30pm on Thursday, October 3rd at Historic Antioch Baptist Church, located at 4604 Cedar Bush Road, Hayes, VA 23072 for our daytime live observance of Yom Teruah. Complete the form above to join us online via Zoom for either or both Yom Teruah observances. (Note: Only 1 sacred assembly is required by Scripture.)

During our Yom Teruah and Yom Kippur services, we will also have communion. Near the end of our Yom Teruah Service, we will pray for deliverance and intercede, accompanied by 12 communions. If you join us online, please bring enough matzah (unleavened bread) and grape juice (1 large cup) for 12 communions, if you'd like to receive Holy Communion with us.

More about Yom Kippur Immersion and Feast Day Service

Yom Kippur is also called the Day of Atonement. This year, it begins at sundown on Friday, October 11th and ends at sundown on Saturday, October 12th. The Lord requires a complete fast (no food, water or entertainment) and doing absolutely no work on this day (Lev. 23:26-32). It is the day on which God either purges us of our sins or purges us from His Book of Life, as no sin can glory in His Presence. Yom Kippur will be fulfilled on Judgment Day, as we see it in Revelation 20:11-15. As believers in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ), we must focus on praying for the lost and our nation on Yom Kippur, as this is the day that God set apart to deliver entire nations from sin. It is in fact the Biblical National Day of Prayer!

We will begin our Yom Kippur observance with an Immersion in the York River at Gloucester Point Beach Park in Gloucester, VA and in the James River at Pony Pasture Park in Richmond, VA at 12 noon EDT on Saturday, October 12th. Our Yom Kippur Immersion in Yorktown is in conjunction with Congregation Zion's Sake. Both immersions are free and open to all but will not be broadcast. Please wear dark clothes and bring a towel and change of clothes if you join us for the Immersion. Following the Immersion, we will lead a Yom Kippur Service on Saturday, October 12th at Historic Antioch Baptist Church, located at 4604 Cedar Bush Road, Hayes, VA 23072 and at Congregation Or Shalom in the Women's Business Center at 1510 Willow Lawn Drive, Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23230. Complete the form above to join us online via Zoom for this service.

Near the end of our Yom Kippur Online Service, we will have communion once. If you join us online, please bring a small piece of matzah (unleavened bread) and a small cup of grape juice (or wine), if you'd like to receive Holy Communion with us on Yom Kippur. If you join us in-person, we will supply the communion elements.

More about 1st Day of Sukkot Feast Day Service and 8th Day of Sukkot Feast Day Service

Sukkot begins at sundown Wednesday, October 16th and ends at sundown on Thursday, October 24th. During this time, the Lord requires that we dwell in temporary shelters (called sukkot), enjoying fellowship with Him and each other. On the 1st and 8th days of Sukkot, God calls us to hold a sacred assembly (Lev. 23:33-43). Sukkot will be fulfilled when all of God's people dwell with Him forever with nothing to harm us or cause us to mourn (Rev. 21:1-4). Let's practice for eternity with God now!

For our live observances of the 1st and 8th Days of Sukkot, join us at 11:30am on Thursday, October 17th and Thursday, October 24th in a sukkah at Historic Antioch Baptist Church, located at 4604 Cedar Bush Road, Hayes, VA 23072, or in a sukkah near Shelter #2 at Three Lakes Park located at 400 Sausiluta Drive, Richmond, VA 23227. At both live locations and on both the 1st and 8th Days of Sukkot, we will begin to pray and eat at 11:30am EDT, with the live broadcasts beginning at 12:30pm EDT. Complete the form above to join us online via Zoom.

Near the end of both of our Sukkot Services (1st & 8th days), we will pray for deliverance and intercede, accompanied by 12 communions. If you join us online, please bring enough matzah (unleavened bread) and grape juice (1 large cup) for 12 communions, if you'd like to receive Holy Communion with us. Remember, Sukkot is one of the 3 annual Feasts during which God requires a Shelamim offering--a freewill offering based on how much He has blessed us (see Deuteronomy 16:16-17). Determine how much your household will give during Sukkot, and set it aside. Give it any time during Sukkot, and receive a household blessing.
